In my experience there is no substitute or better method for analyzing or correcting spinal subluxations than with a pair of skilled hands. If you have you ever worked with a skilled practitioner or artisan who adhered to the principals of old world craftsmanship you would definitely know what I mean.
I apply these same principles to your chiropractic care. It’s also important to understand that there are essentially two types of chiropractors: limited scope chiropractors and full-spectrum chiropractors.
Limited scope doctors focus primarily on relief of symptoms only. Manipulations are done to the spine to decompress joints, free fixations and reduce pain. Adjunctive therapies (physiotherapy, massage, acupuncture, etc.) may also be used to supplement these manipulations. This type of care is described most accurately as “therapeutic” rather than “corrective”. In fact, length of treatment and frequency of adjustments are usually dictated by the patient's symptoms or insurance coverage.
Full spectrum or traditional chiropractors certainly want their patients to feel better, but this is accomplished by offering a complete correction of your spinal condition. Therefore, the length of correction and frequency of adjustments is determined by the severity of the patient's subluxations, structural alignment, etc., not merely symptoms!
In my office, the end goal is to allow your body to heal itself. I do this by correcting the misaligned parts of your spine, thereby removing interference to the nervous system that is the cause of the problem. For this reason, there is only one service provided: Chiropractic. Also, in order to ensure that the chiropractic adjustments delivered are the most specific, biomechanically correct, and hence most effective, Dr. Paul utilizes the Gonstead Chiropractic Method exclusively (see links page for more information on the Gonstead method).
